I lived in Ukraine for several years and my friends there have now been forced into war. They lack critical supplies to protect themselves and survive.
To date, we have raised nearly £100,000 (target was £7k for 1 truck), bought 20 trucks and personally drove them laden with critical medical and humanitarian supplies from London to my friends in Ukraine. We also donated the trucks to be used to distribute humanitarian supplies within the country.
In addition to the 20 trucks, together we were able to outfit vulnerable civilians in Kyiv and cities in western and central Ukraine with warm clothes including boots, pants, jackets, gloves, hats, headlamps, radios, chargers and first aid kits.
We were also able to outfit the family that housed me 20 years ago when I was a Peace Corps Volunteer in a village in central Ukraine. They welcomed me into their home like family and put up with my broken Ukrainian for 3 months, and I am so grateful that we were able to provide them with critical supplies.
This week we bought 2 MORE trucks and will drive them to Ukraine this weekend with more medical and humanitarian supplies.
We appreciate you may have already donated to other worthwhile causes, but if you are interested to support this direct, tangible effort to support vulnerable Ukrainian civilians it is hugely appreciated.
All funds raised will continue to help the victims of this war, whether by funding more trucks and supplies or for the resettlement in of those who have suddenly become refugees.
Thank you for supporting Ukraine.
